Find the exact surrender value or maturity value of your LIC New Jeevan Anand policy — calculated on LIC’s own official factor tables and 2026 bonus chart, so the figure matches what LIC actually pays.
What is LIC New Jeevan Anand?
LIC New Jeevan Anand is a participating (with-profits), non-linked endowment plan with one standout feature: even after your policy matures and pays out, the basic life cover continues for the rest of your life at no further premium. It combines savings, a maturity lump sum, and lifelong protection in a single policy.
The plan has been sold under several table numbers over the years. They are structurally the same plan; the differences are the launch/withdrawal dates, the minimum Sum Assured, and regulatory (UIN) updates:
| Plan number | Period | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 715 | 2024 – current | The only version on sale today (2024 regulations) |
| 915 | 2020 – 2024 | Minimum Sum Assured raised to ₹2 lakh |
| 815 | 2013 – 2020 | “New Jeevan Anand”; minimum Sum Assured ₹1 lakh |
| 149 | before 2013 | Original “Jeevan Anand” |
If you bought your policy a few years ago, it is most likely Plan 815 or 915 — that is what most people search for when they want a surrender value. The calculator supports all versions.
How is the surrender value of New Jeevan Anand calculated?
When you surrender before maturity, LIC pays the higher of two amounts:
1. Guaranteed Surrender Value (GSV). A guaranteed percentage of the premiums you have paid (excluding the first year, taxes and riders), plus a percentage of the vested bonus. The premium percentage rises the longer you have held the policy.
2. Special Surrender Value (SSV). The paid-up value of the policy multiplied by an SSV factor that depends on the years remaining. For most policies held a reasonable number of years, the SSV is higher — and that is what LIC actually pays.
The calculator computes both and shows you the higher figure, with the vested bonus filled in automatically from LIC’s 2026 bonus chart. You only need your Sum Assured, annual premium, and start date.
How is the maturity value calculated?
If you hold the policy to the end of the term, the maturity benefit is:
After this payout, the basic Sum Assured stays in force as free lifelong cover — payable to your nominee whenever death occurs, with no more premiums. The maturity calculator estimates the lump sum using the accumulated bonus for your term.
Worked example
A New Jeevan Anand policy with a Sum Assured of ₹5,00,000 and a 21-year term, surrendered after 10 years, might look like this (illustrative):
| Premiums paid (approx.) | ₹2,60,000 |
| Vested bonus (auto from chart) | ₹2,10,000 |
| Special Surrender Value (higher of the two) | ₹3,05,000 |

Frequently asked questions
When can I surrender my New Jeevan Anand policy?
Under the 2024 rules a policy acquires a surrender value after you have paid premiums for two consecutive years. Older policies (Plan 815) needed three years. Before that, no surrender value is payable.
Will I lose money if I surrender early?
In the early years the surrender value is usually well below the premiums you have paid, because guaranteed factors start low. The value improves the longer you hold the policy. Use the calculator to see your exact figure before deciding.
Do I need to enter the vested bonus myself?
No. The calculator reads the vested Simple Reversionary Bonus straight from LIC’s 2026 bonus chart based on your Sum Assured, term and start date. You only enter the basics of your policy.
Is Plan 815 still available?
No. New policies are issued only under Plan 715 today. But millions of existing Plan 815 and 915 policies are still in force, and the calculator supports all of them for surrender and maturity.
Can I take a loan instead of surrendering?
Yes. Once the policy has a surrender value you can borrow against it — typically up to 90% of the surrender value for in-force policies — without ending the cover. Try the LIC loan calculator.
How accurate is this calculator?
It uses LIC’s own guaranteed and special surrender value factors and the official 2026 bonus chart. Results have been checked against LIC’s internal eFEAP surrender quotation and match to the rupee. The exact special surrender value LIC pays can vary slightly with periodic factor revisions.
